My trusty Honda NT1100 sits patiently in the garage, awaiting its next adventure. It was a faithful companion this past summer, carrying me from Ljubliana to the northern reaches of Italy, then braving the ferry crossing to Sicily. The return journey up the Italian leg was a whirlwind of emotions - exhilarating and terrifying in equal measure. Italian drivers, a cliché I know, but one that proved true on more than one occasion.
I'll have plenty of time to recount the tales of this spectacular journey, for my bike is unlikely to see action for a while now. It's not the winter's chill that keeps me indoors – I relish a crisp winter's day ride. No, it's the unwelcome arrival of wear and tear. But not to the bike. Instead, at this very moment, I'm in hospital having my right knee replaced.
As I prepare for this temporary setback, this blog will become my virtual companion on the road to recovery. I'll share stories from my past journeys, reflect on the lessons learned along the way and dream of future adventures. Join me as I navigate this new chapter. Your support will be invaluable as I attempt to get back the range of motion in my right knee, the one I have to throw over the bike. Motorcycling and the hills – they’re are a powerful incentive to do the physio, but it will be good to walk without pain again.
Nice and easy-follow the advice😉
